Optometrist
Dr. Travis Turgeon
Raised in Morinville, Dr. Turgeon began his academic pursuit at the University of Alberta Campus Saint-Jean, earning his Bilingual Bachelor of Science in 2011. His passion for eye health guided him to Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon, where he was distinguished with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 2015. His exceptional performance merited two prestigious recognitions: the William Ludlum Scholarship and the Tole Greenstein Award for Excellence in Binocular Vision and Vision Therapy.
A personal experience sparked Dr. Turgeon’s interest in optometry. At 13, he got his first pair of glasses and contact lenses from Dr. Bugera at Capital Vision Care – Morinville. As a budding ice hockey goaltender, having crystal clear vision significantly boosted his performance, both in the classroom and on the ice, culminating in his team’s victory at the Bantam AAA Western Canadian Championship. This transformative impact on his life steered him towards a career in optometry.
Offering eye exams in both English and French, Dr. Turgeon warmly welcomes patients seeking bilingual optometric care.
